Malvern Prep came tearing into Saturday's game with ten straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 7.2 runs), and they left with even more momentum. They came out on top against the Episcopal Academy Churchmen by a score of 6-1. That's the third time they've managed to beat them this season, with their most recent victory being a 5-1 win back in April.

Chase Ecker spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered a run (which was unearned) on four hits. He has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't given up a single earned run in three consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Malvern Prep got a big performance out of Owen Hammond, who went 3-for-4 with one stolen base, two RBI, and one double. That's the most RBI Hammond has posted since back in April. Tommy Sergio was another key player, going 2-for-4 with three RBI and one run.

Malvern Prep pushed their record up to 32-5 with the victory, which was their ninth straight at home. The home wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.4 runs on average over those games. As for Episcopal Academy, the defeat snapped their winning streak at five games and leaves them with a 18-9-1 record.
