Softball Recap: Vardaman Takes a Loss

Vardaman fell victim to South Pontotoc and their airtight pitching crew on Monday. They came up short against the South Pontotoc Cougars, falling 6-0. The Rams haven't had much luck with the Cougars recently, as the team has come up short the last six times they've met.

Addi Lucius spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered just two earned (and four unearned) runs on six hits. She also tossed a walk, marking her first of the season.

Vardaman's defeat dropped their record down to 7-3. As for South Pontotoc, they pushed their record up to 8-4 with the victory, which was their fifth straight on the road.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Vardaman will face off against Winona at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for South Pontotoc, they will take on Byhalia at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday.
