Baseball Game Preview: Northeastern Bobcats vs. Central Dauphin East Panthers

The Northeastern Bobcats will venture away from home to take on the Central Dauphin East Panthers at 4:15 p.m. on Thursday. Northeastern will be strutting in after a win while Central Dauphin East will be coming in after a defeat.

On Wednesday, Northeastern needed a bit of extra time to put away Dallastown. They skirted past the Wildcats 8-6.

Zack Ball and Brandt Johnson did most of the damage at the plate: Ball went 1-for-3 with one home run and two RBI, while Johnson scored two runs while going 2-for-5. That's the most runs Johnson has posted since back in April of 2024. Brayden Ford also deserves some recognition as he got his first hits of the season.

Meanwhile, Central Dauphin East was not able to break out of their rough patch on Wednesday as the team picked up their eighth straight loss. They fell 5-0 to Gettysburg.

Northeastern's victory was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 4-5. Those road wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 11.0 runs over those games. As for Central Dauphin East, their defeat dropped their record down to 2-9.
