La Canada waltzed into their matchup on Thursday with four straight wins... but they left with five. They walked away with a 20-12 victory over the Westridge Tigers. The Spartans have seen this before: they got the W the last time they saw the Tigers, too.
It was another big night for Gretchen Louie, who rushed for 66 yards and a pair of touchdowns.
La Canada didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off two passes before the game was over. The picks came courtesy of Sahana Garg and Chloe Babakhanian. Garg is also on a roll when it comes to defended passes, as she's now defended at least one in each of the last five games she's played.
La Canada's record is now 6-2. As for Westridge, their loss dropped their record down to 9-4.
Coincidentally, La Canada and Westridge will both be playing Rio Hondo Prep the next time they take the field. The Spartans will host the Kares on Saturday, while the Tigers will play them later in the day, at 11:00 a.m.
