Baseball Recap: Chilton Turns Things Around After Road Loss

There's no place like home for Chilton, who bounced back after a loss on the road last Tuesday. Everything went their way against the Freedom Irish on Friday as they made off with a 13-3 win. For the Tigers, this counts as revenge for the 13-3 victory the Irish walked away with the last time they faced one another back in May of 2022.

Nathan Mueller and Peyton Juckem made a big impact no matter where they played. Throwing, Mueller tossed two innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. Meanwhile, Juckem pitched two innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. At the plate, Mueller scored two runs while getting on base in all three of his plate appearances, while Juckem scored a run while getting on base in three of his four plate appearances. Those two runs gave Mueller a new career-high.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Kale Wagner, who scored two runs while going 1-for-3. Another player making a difference was Mike Vanden Heuvel, who scored two runs and stole two bases while going 2-for-5.

The win got Chilton back to even at 1-1.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Chilton will square off against Brillion at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Freedom, they will challenge Crivitz at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday.
