West Rowan entered their tilt with Northwest Cabarrus on Tuesday with seven consecutive wins, and they'll enter their next game with eight. They narrowly escaped with a victory as the squad sidled past the Trojans 4-2. The Falcons have seen this before: they got the W the last time they saw the Trojans, too.

Arabelle Shulenburger made a big impact while hitting and pitching. She looked comfortable on the mound, striking out six batters over 6.2 innings while giving up just two earned runs off six hits (and only one walk). She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up more than two walks any time she's pitched this season. She was also solid in the batter's box, getting on base in all three of her plate appearances with one RBI.

In other batting news, Reese Poole was excellent, going 3-for-4 with two stolen bases and one run. That's the most hits she has posted since back in February.

West Rowan's win was their 12th straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 15-2. Those home victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 10.4 runs over those games. As for Northwest Cabarrus, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 6-7.

The teams didn't have to wait long for a rematch: West Rowan beat the Trojans by a score of 20-6 later that day.
