Basketball Game Preview: Skyline Raiders vs. Mesquite Skeeters

The Skyline Raiders will face off against the Mesquite Skeeters at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Skyline has now lost eight straight, leaving the team hunting for their first win since December 28.

Last Friday, Skyline took a blow against Lancaster, falling 76-23. While losing is never fun, the Raiders can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 543rd, while the Tigers are ranked 20th).

Meanwhile, Mesquite played a tough match on Friday in which they were outscored in every quarter. They had to suffer through a 67-28 loss at the hands of Cedar Hill. The Skeeters were down 46-23 at the end of the third quarter, and things only got worse from there.

Skyline's defeat dropped their record down to 6-22. As for Mesquite, they have traveled a rocky road recently having lost five of their last six contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 14-15 record this season.

Skyline and Mesquite were neck-and-neck in their previous meeting on January 3rd, but Skyline came up empty-handed after a 44-43 loss. Can Skyline avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
