Basketball Game Preview: Green Level Gators vs. Sidwell Friends Quakers

The Green Level Gators will take on the Sidwell Friends Quakers in a tournament on Monday. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, both will really light up the scoreboard.

Green Level saw some tournament action on Saturday. They came out on top against Millbrook by a score of 57-45. Given the Gators' advantage in MaxPreps' North Carolina basketball rankings (they are ranked tenth, while the Wildcats are ranked 117th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Trevor Manhertz was his usual excellent self, going 7 for 11 on his way to 29 points and three steals. The dominant performance gave him a new career-high in points. The team also got some help courtesy of Isaac Ericksen, who almost dropped a double-double on 14 points and nine rebounds.

Meanwhile, in a tight match that could have gone either way, Sidwell Friends made off with a 55-54 victory over Clayton.

Green Level's record is now 11-1. As for Sidwell Friends, their record now sits at 6-3.
