League recap: Dixon races to league-leading run for Harrells Christian Academy

NCISAA Big East recap October 8, 2013

Sammy Dixon of Harrells Christian Academy ran for the longest rushing play in NCISAA Big East this season against Wake Christian Academy last week. Dixon's team topped the Bulldogs as he sprinted for 61 yards on the play and finished with 288 in all.

North Raleigh Christian Academy moved up to 343 from 369 in the state rankings this week, the biggest jump in the league. The Knights climbed the ranks as a result of besting Raleigh Titans 58-19.

Leading the league in both passing and receiving yards, North Raleigh Christian Academy's Richard Landis and Daniel Rose have proven to be a lethal combination. 6-1 quarterback Landis has thrown for 969 yards this season, while Rose has 50 catches for 538 yards. Harrells Christian Academy's Kelly Nelms leads the league in rushing yards with 750.

Fans will be treated to a premier battle in the secondary when Rich Landis' team's Rose goes up against Brian Aldridge's team's Cole Hardison.

Next week's game between the Knights and the Crusaders will feature an aerial matchup as Landis tests his arm against Hardison's defensive ability.

An important game coming up in NCISAA Big East this week will be when Harrells Christian Academy takes on North Raleigh Christian Academy. As it stands, the Crusaders are in first, while the Knights are in fourth.

The league will see a high scoring game when Harrells Christian Academy and North Raleigh Christian Academy face off this week. The top two offenses in the league, the Crusaders comes in having scored 256 this season, while the Knights have scored 101. Harrells Christian Academy scored 54 points last week as it beat Wake Christian Academy.

Ravenscroft took down Cannon 61-19 last week, the largest margin of any game.
