Preview: Cincinnati Christian Cougars vs. New Miami Vikings
Cincinnati Christian is 9-0 against New Miami since January of 2015, and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Wednesday. The Cincinnati Christian Cougars will be home for the holidays to greet the New Miami Vikings at 6:00 p.m. The timing is sure in Cincinnati Christian's favor as the team sits on three straight wins at home while New Miami has been banged up by five consecutive losses on the road dating back to last season.
Even though Cincinnati Christian has not done well against Clark Montessori recently (they were 0-9 in their previous nine matchups), they didn't let the past get in their way on Saturday. Cincinnati Christian walked away with a 46-35 victory over Clark Montessori. Given Cincinnati Christian's advantage in MaxPreps' Ohio basketball rankings (they are ranked 308th, while Clark Montessori is ranked 660th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Cincinnati Christian found their leader in underclassman Addyson Raby, who scored 14 points along with nine rebounds and five steals. Those five steals set a new season-high mark for her. Another player making a difference was Serena Cyprien, who scored 20 points.
Meanwhile, New Miami had to suffer through a rough 52-12 loss at the hands of DePaul Cristo Rey. The result shouldn't come as a shock considering that's the fewest points New Miami has scored all season.
Cincinnati Christian's win bumped their record up to 7-1. As for New Miami, their loss dropped their record down to 1-5.
Cincinnati Christian skirted past New Miami 30-27 in their previous matchup back in January. Does Cincinnati Christian have another victory up their sleeve, or will New Miami turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
