Baseball Recap: Raleigh Takes a Loss

Raleigh fell victim to Florence and their airtight pitching crew on Monday. They lost 16-0 to the Eagles. Having soared to a lofty ten runs in the game before, the Lions' shutout was a dramatic turnaround.

Raleigh saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Deuce Carter, who went a perfect 1-for-1 with one double.

Raleigh has also traveled a rocky road recently, having lost five of their last six matches. That's put a noticeable dent in their 8-12 record this season. As for Florence, they are on a roll lately: they've won ten of their last 11 contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 17-4 record this season.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Raleigh will head out to square off against St. Andrew's Episcopal at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The Saints will roll in looking for their ninth straight victory, something the Lions surely won't give up without a fight. As for Florence, they are taking a road trip to face off against Sumrall at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday.
