Baseball Game Preview: North Davidson Black Knights vs. Oak Grove Grizzlies

The North Davidson Black Knights will take on the Oak Grove Grizzlies on Tuesday. Both teams are coming into the matchup red-hot, with North Davidson sitting on three straight wins and Oak Grove on six.

North Davidson is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Friday. They walked away with a 10-5 victory over St. Stephens.

Crest typically has all the answers at home, but on Friday Oak Grove proved too difficult a challenge. They came out on top against the Chargers by a score of 5-1. That's two games straight that the Grizzlies have won by exactly four runs.

Carson Everhart spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered a run (which was unearned) on four hits. He has been consistent for a while: he hasn't given up more than two walks in 11 consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, Cam Sharpe was incredible, going 1-for-3 with one home run and two RBI. That's the most RBI he has posted since back in April. The team also got some help courtesy of Kaden Hart, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with one stolen base, one run, and one double.

Oak Grove's win was their fourth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 16-10. Those road victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 10.0 runs over those games. As for North Davidson, they now have a winning record of 14-13.

North Davidson took their win against Oak Grove when the teams last played back in March by a conclusive 10-4 score. Will the Black Knights repeat their success, or do the Grizzlies have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
