Softball Recap: Chelsea Snags Sixth Victory in Last Eight Games

Chelsea never let their opponents score on Tuesday. They were the clear victors by a 13-0 margin over the Good Hope Raiders. Considering the Hornets have won nine contests by more than five runs this season, Tuesday's blowout was nothing new.

Lorelei Beck made a splash while hitting and pitching. She didn't allow a single earned run while striking out eight over four innings pitched. She has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't given up a single earned run in three consecutive appearances. She was also stellar in the batter's box, scoring a run while going 3-for-3.

In other batting news, Caroline Brown was incredible, going a perfect 3-for-3 with one home run, three RBI, and two runs. That's the most RBI she has posted since back in April of 2024. Another player making a difference was Katie Hopson, who scored three runs while going 3-for-3.

Chelsea has been performing well recently as they've won six of their last eight matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 16-8-1 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 9.4 runs over those games. This is the second loss in a row for Good Hope and nudges their season record down to 11-7-1.

Chelsea has already played their next game, a 4-1 win against Rehobeth on the 25th. As for Good Hope, they will take on West Morgan at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
