Basketball Recap: Smith Center Puts Losing Streak Behind Them

Hill City came into Tuesday's match looking for another win against Smith Center, but Mason Enochs wouldn't allow it. The Smith Center Redmen sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 57-54 victory over the Hill City Ringnecks on Tuesday thanks in part to Enochs, who went 7 of 11 en route to 18 points and six boards. He has been hot, having also posted two or more steals the last eight times he's played.

Despite the loss, Hill City still got an impressive performance from Carson Keith, who went 9 for 16 on his way to 24 points in addition to six rebounds and four steals. Another player making a difference was Cameron Atkins, who posted 11 points.

Smith Center moved to 4-8 with that win, which also ended their four-game losing streak. As for Hill City, they have traveled a rocky road recently having lost four of their last five games, which put a noticeable dent in their 3-8 record this season.

Smith Center didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 67-55 loss against Phillipsburg on the 31st. As for Hill City, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next match, a 50-38 victory against Oakley on the 31st.
