While Juniata Valley didn't have the best season last year (they finished 3-15), it's starting to look like those struggles are a thing of the past. They came out on top in a nail-biter against the Curwensville Golden Tide on Tuesday, sneaking past 8-6. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest win the Hornets have posted since April 30, 2024.

Zach Dick was excellent, going 1-for-3 with one stolen base, one run, and one RBI. That RBI marked the first that he has brought in this season. Elijah Johns was another key player, going 1-for-3 with one run and one RBI.

The victory made it two in a row for Juniata Valley and bumps their season record up to 5-2. The wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered a grand total of 8 runs in those games. As for Curwensville, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 4-6.

Looking ahead, Juniata Valley will challenge Northern Bedford County at 3:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Curwensville, they will face off against Williamsburg at 12:30 p.m. on Thursday. The Blue Pirates will roll in looking for their fifth straight victory, something the Golden Tide surely won't give up without a fight.
