Basketball Recap: West's Higher State Rank on Full Display on Thursday

West's tournament run continued when they took on Tennessee Heat on Thursday. The West Rebels managed a 72-66 victory over Tennessee Heat. Given the Rebels' advantage in MaxPreps' Tennessee basketball rankings (they are ranked 21st, while Tennessee Heat are ranked 98th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

West's win bumped their record up to 6-2. As for Tennessee Heat, they have traveled a rocky road recently having lost four of their last five matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 8-8 record this season.

When West and Tennessee Heat next hit the court, they'll be up against teams who recently just can't seem to lose. West will try to stop Gordonsville's four-game winning streak when the meet at 4:00 p.m. on December 27th. Meanwhile, Tennessee Heat will challenge South Atlanta and their four-game winning streak at 11:30 a.m. on Friday.
