Baseball Recap: Drumright Takes a Loss

Drumright lost against Preston back in March of 2024, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Thursday. The Drumright Tornadoes came up short against the Preston Pirates, falling 28-6. The Tornadoes have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Gavin Brimmer made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and scored a run while going 2-for-2. Another player making a difference was Jagger Willing, who scored a run while going 1-for-2.

Even though they lost, Drumright always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .556. That was just more of the same: they've now posted an OBP of .545 or higher in three consecutive games.

Drumright's loss dropped their record down to 2-6. As for Preston, the victory keeps them at an undefeated 6-0.

Looking ahead, Drumright will challenge McLoud at 3:30 p.m. on Friday. McLoud will aim to continue their three-game streak of scoring more runs each matchup than the last. As for Preston, they will square off against Dibble at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Both teams are headed into the matchup with plenty of momentum (Dibble has won five straight at home, while Preston won five straight on the road dating back to last season), something that'll have to change.
