Recap: Oakland Tech Bulldogs vs. Fremont Tigers
The Oakland Tech Bulldogs had already won two in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 10 points), and they went ahead and made it three on Wednesday. They snuck past Fremont with a 66-62 victory. Given Oakland Tech's advantage in MaxPreps' California basketball rankings (they are ranked 103rd, while Fremont is ranked 389th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
It was another big night for Ardarius Grayson, who dropped a double-double on 23 points and ten rebounds. He hasn't dropped below 20 points for three straight games. Xan Myer-Plettner was another key contributor, scoring 13 points along with six rebounds and two blocks.
Defeat or not, Fremont got some senior leadership from Jaylen Wheeler and Ozmandias Savage. Wheeler scored 25 points, while Savage. scored 19 points.
Oakland Tech's victory was their seventh straight at home, which pushed their record up to 19-5. Those victories were due in large part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 68.9 points per game. As for Fremont, their defeat dropped their record down to 12-12.
Oakland Tech will head out on the road to challenge Castlemont at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Oakland Tech is facing Castlemont at the right time seeing as Castlemont is stuck on a six-game losing streak. As for Fremont, they will be playing at home against McClymonds at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Fremont has been dominant on offense recently, as they've racked up an incredible 227 points over their last three contests.
