Football Recap: South Choctaw Academy Takes a Loss

If South Choctaw Academy was riding high fresh off their 48-0 takedown of Sparta Academy last Friday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Rebels fell 28-22 to the Patrician Academy Saints on Thursday. The Rebels were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Saints apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in October of 2024.

This one was won in the trenches and the lion's share of the credit has to go to Remington Faile and Ethan Carr. Faile rushed for 176 yards and three touchdowns while picking up 8.8 yards per carry while Carr rushed for 234 yards and one TD while picking up 9.8 yards per carry. Faile is crushing it when it comes to rushing touchdowns: he's punched in at least two every time he's taken the field this season.

South Choctaw Academy's loss dropped their record down to 2-2. As for Patrician Academy, they pushed their record up to 4-0 with the win, which was their fifth straight on the road dating back to last season.

We've got plenty of inter-region action coming up soon. South Choctaw Academy will square off against rival Wilcox Academy at 7:00 p.m. on the 19th. Meanwhile, Patrician Academy is set to challenge their familiar foe Monroe Academy at 7:00 p.m. on the 19th.
