Baseball Recap: Greater Nanticoke Area Comes Up Short

Greater Nanticoke Area lost a heartbreaker to Crestwood when they met back in April of 2023, and they left with a heavy heart again on Thursday. The Trojans took a 6-2 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Comets. If the Trojans were looking for revenge after losing 4-2 to the Comets when the teams met back in March of 2024, then they'll just have to keep looking.

Greater Nanticoke Area saw six different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Derek Shemanski, who went 2-for-4 with one stolen base and one RBI.

Greater Nanticoke Area dropped their record down to 1-6 with the defeat, which was their fourth straight at home dating back to last season. As for Crestwood, the victory got them back to even at 3-3.

Coming up, Greater Nanticoke Area will challenge Wyoming Valley West at 4:30 p.m. on Monday. The Trojans' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Spartans have averaged an impressive 7.3 runs per game this season. As for Crestwood, they will look to defend their home field on Saturday against Dallas at 2:00 p.m.
