Soccer Game Preview: Lisle vs. Streator/Woodland

The Lisle Lions will challenge the Streator/Woodland Bulldogs at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday. Lisle will be looking to extend their current five-game winning streak.

Lisle's defense heads into the contest hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Tuesday. They came out on top against Illinois Math & Science Academy by a score of 2-0. Lisle's winning goal came courtesy of Jordan Rodriguez *.

Meanwhile, Saturday just wasn't the day for Streator/Woodland's offense. They took a 2-0 hit to the loss column at the hands of Moline on Saturday. That's two games in a row now that Streator/Woodland have lost by exactly two goals.

Streator/Woodland was without their leading scorer, Audrey Arambula, in Saturday's matchup. With Arambula sidelined, Rhea Huey got her first action of the season.

Streator/Woodland has traveled a rocky road recently, having lost six of their last seven games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 4-14 record this season. As for Lisle, their win bumped their record up to 8-5.

Lisle beat Streator/Woodland 3-1 in their previous matchup back in April of 2024. Will the Lions repeat their success, or do the Bulldogs have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
