Softball Recap: Great Falls Takes a Loss

Great Falls extended their losing streak to three on Tuesday, dropping them down to 1-7. They lost 18-1 to the McBee Panthers. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Panthers this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 14-2 on March 13th.

As for McBee, they moved to 4-6 with that win, which also ended their three-game losing streak. That looming 18-1 mark stands out as the most commanding margin for them yet this season.

For McBee's part, Hayden Watson made a big impact no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound, tossing two innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. Watson was also big at the plate, going 1-for-2 with two runs and one RBI.

In other batting news, Sydney Matthews was a standout: she went a perfect 2-for-2 with three runs, one stolen base, and two RBI. That stolen base was her first of the season. Ashton Raley was another key player, going a perfect 2-for-2 with two stolen bases, three runs, and three RBI.

Coming up, Great Falls will be playing in front of their home fans against Midlands STEM Charter at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. As for McBee, they will venture away from home to challenge Central at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. The Panthers' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Eagles have averaged an impressive 6.9 runs per game this season.
