Fredericksburg V suffers sixth straight loss on the road

This season hasn't been kind to the Fredericksburg V Victory, who are still winless after their tenth game. They suffered a rough 55-31 defeat at the hands of Christ Chapel Academy on Tuesday. While losing is never fun, Fredericksburg V can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Virginia basketball rankings (they are ranked 397th, while the are ranked 151st).

Zaria Gaskins continued her habit of posting crazy stat lines for Christ Chapel Academy, dropping a double-double on 13 points and ten assists. Gaskins is on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed two or more in the last eight games she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Nyanbuot Woul Makec, who scored ten points along with six rebounds and four blocks.

Fredericksburg V dropped their record down to 0-10 with that defeat, which was their sixth straight on the road. That rough patch could be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they only averaged 22.3 points per game. As for Christ Chapel Academy, the victory was the fourth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 11-3.

Fredericksburg V does not have any more games scheduled as of now. Christ Chapel Academy will head out on the road to square off against the Eagles at 4:45 p.m. on Thursday.
