Calvary Chapel Academy scored the most runs they've had this season on Thursday, but it wasn't enough. They fell just short of the Brevard HEAT Firehawks by a score of 19-18. The Eagles' loss continues a trend for the team, making it three in a row.

Armando Martinez stepped up to lead a balanced group of hitters: he scored three runs and stole Two bases. while getting on base in four of his five plate appearances. That's the most stolen bases he has posted since back in April of 2024. The team also got some help courtesy of Conner Wolfe, who scored three runs and stole a base while going 1-for-4.

Calvary Chapel Academy's defeat dropped their record down to 2-9. As for Brevard HEAT, their victory ended a four-game drought at home and bumped them up to 2-7.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Calvary Chapel Academy will head out to take on Palm Bay at 10:00 a.m. on Monday. Palm Bay is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 7.3 runs per game this season. As for Brevard HEAT, they will venture away from home to face off against Holy Trinity Episcopal Academy at 4:30 p.m. on Friday. Brevard HEAT has given up an average of 12.1 runs per game this season, so hopefully the team got some pitching drills in this week.
