Baseball Recap: Morehead Panthers vs. Maiden Blue Devils
With a playoff game on the line, Morehead rose to the challenge on Friday. They skirted past the Maiden Blue Devils 3-1. The victory made it back-to-back wins for Morehead.
Briar Woods was excellent, going 2-for-2 with two stolen bases and an RBI. The team also got some help courtesy of Anderson Nance, who scored a run and stole two bases while getting on base in two of his three plate appearances.
Morehead pushed their record up to 24-2 with that win, which was their fourth straight at home. As for Maiden, their defeat dropped their record down to 18-8.
Morehead will challenge Randleman on Tuesday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average, (Randleman: 3.2, Morehead: 2.2) so any runs scored will be well earned. Maiden does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
