Volleyball Recap: Ponca Indians vs. Norfolk Catholic Knights
On Tuesday, the Ponca Indians didn't have quite enough to beat the Norfolk Catholic Knights and fell 2-1. The Indians have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
In a back-and-forth that saw neither team win consecutive sets, Ponca sadly dropped the once that decided the match. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-22, 19-25, 25-17.
Leading Norfolk Catholic to victory were Reese Timmerman and Hannah Hoesing. Timmerman had 20 digs, while Hoesing had five digs and 11 assists. Timmerman is on a roll when it comes to digs, as she's now had 13 or more in the last six games she's played.
Ponca's defeat dropped their record down to 8-10. As for Norfolk Catholic, the win (which was their eighth in a row) raised their record to 13-2.
Coincidentally, both will both be playing Crofton the next time they take the court. Ponca will head out to face Crofton at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday, while Norfolk Catholic will play them later in the day, at TBD.
