Our Lady of Mount Carmel hadn't done well against St. Mary recently (they were 0-4 in their previous four matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Wednesday. Our Lady of Mount Carmel walked away with a 9-6 win over St. Mary's. For the Cougars, this counts as revenge for the 21-3 victory the Saints walked away with the last time they faced one another back in May of 2024.

Andy Molina-Sosa spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered five earned (and one unearned) runs on seven hits and racked up seven Ks.

On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Ethyn Street, who scored two runs while going 1-for-2. Lance Gregory was another key player, scoring a run while going 1-for-3.

The win made it two in a row for Our Lady of Mount Carmel and bumps their season record up to 5-2. Those victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered a grand total of 7 runs in those games. As for St. Mary's, their defeat was their third straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 2-4.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Our Lady of Mount Carmel will square off against Severn School at 4:00 p.m. on Friday. Severn School will roll in looking for their eighth straight win, something Our Lady of Mount Carmel surely won't give up without a fight. As for St. Mary's, they will take on Glenelg Country at 4:30 p.m. on Friday. Glenelg Country has struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 8.88 runs per game on average), something St. Mary's will no doubt try to take advantage of.
