Basketball Recap: King Takes a Loss

King was not able to break out of their rough patch on Saturday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They were five points away from ending the streak, but they lost a 61-56 heartbreaker at the hands of the Edinburg Bobcats. While losing is never fun, the Mustangs can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 842nd, while the Bobcats are ranked 409th).

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Edinburg to victory, but perhaps none more so than Axel Navarro, who went 6 of 14 en route to 15 points and six assists. Navarro is also on a roll when it comes to steals, as he's now grabbed two or more in the last four games he's played. Another player making a difference was Edgar Perales, who posted six points in addition to seven assists and six boards.

King's loss dropped their record down to 9-13. As for Edinburg, their record now sits at 17-8.

King wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next matchup, a 52-42 victory against Alice on the 31st. As for Edinburg, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 64-37 win against Zapata on the 30th.
