Baseball Recap: Avalon Comes Up Short

Avalon managed to slip by NOVA HomeSchool the last time these teams faced off, but didn't have those same answers this time around. The Black Knights lost 14-5 to the Lions on Saturday. The Black Knights' loss continues a trend for the team, making it four in a row.

Javeth Carrion made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and scored three runs and stole three bases while going 2-for-3. Guarion Rodriguez was another key player, going 2-for-3 with one stolen base, two RBI, and one double.

Avalon's defeat dropped their record down to 2-8. As for NOVA HomeSchool, they are on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 6-3 record this season.

While Avalon had to take the loss, they won't have to wait long to give it another shot: the pair will be back at it again later today.
