Baseball Recap: Taylor Comes Up Short

Taylor couldn't beat Edsel Ford on Monday even though they stacked five runs on them in the fifth inning. The Griffins fell just short of the Thunderbirds by a score of 8-7. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Thunderbirds this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 4-0 on Wednesday.

Donovin Hill made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and went 2-for-4 with two stolen bases, two runs, and one RBI. Those stolen bases were his first of the season. Chauncey Adkins was another key player, getting on base in all three of his plate appearances with one stolen base and one run.

Taylor has traveled a rocky road recently, having lost three of their last four matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 4-6 record this season. As for Edsel Ford, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 7-5.

Coming up, Taylor will be playing in front of their home fans against Garden City at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Edsel Ford, they will head out to take on Lincoln Park at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday. The Thunderbirds are facing the Railsplitters at the right time seeing as the Railsplitters are stuck on a ten-game losing streak.
