Baseball Recap: Dutch Fork Picks Up Fourth Consecutive Win

Dutch Fork lost to Spring Valley back in April of 2018, but they didn't allow them the same satisfaction on Friday. Dutch Fork walked away with a 6-3 win over Spring Valley. The victory was familiar territory for the Silver Foxes, who have now won four matchups in a row.

L Cesario was a major factor while hitting and pitching. He pitched three innings while giving up just one earned (and one unearned) run off one hit. He has been consistent recently: he hasn't given up more than two walks in three consecutive appearances. He was also big at the plate, going 1-for-3 with one home run and three RBI.

In other batting news, Ethan Offing and Coleman Fryer did most of the damage at the plate: Offing scored two runs while going 1-for-2, while Fryer scored two runs and stole a base while going 1-for-2. Raleigh Salters also deserves some recognition as he hit his first triple of the season.

Dutch Fork pushed their record up to 9-2 with the win, which was their fourth straight at home. Those victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 7.5 runs over those games. As for Spring Valley, their defeat dropped their record down to 4-9.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Dutch Fork will face off against Lexington at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (Dutch Fork 3.1, Lexington 2.9) so any runs scored will be well earned. As for Spring Valley, they are taking a road trip to face off against Westwood at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
