Basketball Recap: West Florida's Victory on Monday Extends Winning Streak to Three

West Florida extended their winning streak to three games thanks to a huge performance from Amani Bartholomew. The West Florida Jaguars greeted the New Year with with a 55-40 win over the Pine Forest Eagles thanks in part to Bartholomew, who dropped a double-double on 29 points and 13 rebounds. That makes it five consecutive games in which she has scored at least a third of West Florida's points.

Another player making a difference was Shania Beeks, who posted 12 points in addition to six assists and six steals. That's the most steals she has posted since back in January of 2024.

Several Eagles players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Chrisshona Bargaineer, who put up 14 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Za'Khiya Shaw-Rease, who had four points along with ten boards and four blocks.

West Florida's victory bumped their record up to 11-7. As for Pine Forest, their loss dropped their record down to 6-8.

West Florida didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next match, a 52-19 win against Gulf Breeze on the 7th. As for Pine Forest, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next contest, a 52-34 victory against Pace on the 8th.
