Basketball Recap: Tindley Tigers vs. Indianapolis Metropolitan Pumas

After flying high against Purdue Broad Ripple last Friday, Tindley came back down to earth. The Tindley Tigers had to suffer through a 75-43 loss at the hands of the Indianapolis Metropolitan Pumas. The Tigers were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Pumas apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in February of 2024.

Tindley's loss shouldn't obscure the performances of Clarence Shipp, who went 6-for-11 to rack up 13 points, and Henri Maye, who posted six points and seven boards.

Indianapolis Metropolitan got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Landon Petty out in front who shot 70% from the field en route to 15 points and eight rebounds. Petty is on a roll when it comes to boards, as he's now pulled down eight or more in each of the last three games he's played. Another player making a difference was Javon Glaspie, who went 6-for-9 on his way to 13 points.

Tindley's defeat dropped their record down to 7-15. As for Indianapolis Metropolitan, the victory (which was their fourth in a row) raised their record to 18-7.

Looking ahead, Tindley will square off against Indiana Math & Science Academy North at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Tindley is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 58 points per game this season. As for Indianapolis Metropolitan, they will take on Eminence at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
