Basketball Game Preview: Rangeview Raiders vs. Northfield Nighthawks

The Rangeview Raiders will head out on the road to square off against the Northfield Nighthawks at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. One thing working in Rangeview's favor is that they have posted at least 55 points every time they've taken the court this season.

Last Tuesday, Rangeview beat Vista PEAK Prep 70-57. Given the Raiders' advantage in MaxPreps' Colorado basketball rankings (they are ranked second, while the Bison are ranked 120th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Rangeview's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Ladavian King led the charge by going 6 of 11 en route to 15 points in addition to five boards and three steals. King's evening made it nine games in a row in which he has scored at least ten points. Another player making a difference was Archie Weatherspoon V, who posted 14 points and five assists.

Meanwhile, Northfield hadn't done well against Denver East recently (they were 0-6 in their previous six matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Wednesday. Northfield came out on top against Denver East by a score of 68-55. Winning may never get old, but the Nighthawks sure are getting used to it with their third in a row.

Rangeview's victory was their fifth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 15-0. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 77.0 points per game. As for Northfield, their record now sits at 11-4.

Rangeview didn't have too much breathing room in their game against Northfield in their previous matchup on January 14th, but they still walked away with a 74-68 win. The rematch might be a little tougher for Rangeview since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
