Lafayette had to travel to play their first game of the season, but the final result was worth the trip. They came out on top against the Bishop Seabury Academy Seahawks by a score of 67-58 on Wednesday. The win was nothing new for the Fighting Irish as they're now sitting on five straight dating back to last season.

Despite the loss, Bishop Seabury Academy still got an impressive performance from Chase Honarvar, who dropped a double-double on 21 points and ten rebounds. Honarvar has been hot for a while, having posted ten or more boards the last 29 times he's played. Jace Smith was another key player, putting up 14 points.

Bishop Seabury Academy now has a losing record at 1-2.

Lafayette is packing up and heading out on the road for their first away game this season. they will take on Mid-Buchanan at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. One thing working in Mid-Buchanan's favor is that they have posted at least 55 points every time they've taken the court this season. As for Bishop Seabury Academy, they will have a little extra prep time after the defeat as they won't be playing again for a while. They'll take on Northeast Kansas Nighthawks HomeSchool at 7:30 p.m. on January 6, 2025.
