Softball Recap: Margaretta's Win Ends Four-Game Losing Streak at Home

Margaretta's game on Monday was a loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Wednesday. They came out on top against the Willard Crimson Flashes by a score of 5-2. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 17-7 back in April.

Elie Grime spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered only one earned (and one unearned) run on two hits and racked up six Ks.

At the plate, Elianna Young was excellent, going 3-for-4 with two runs and one stolen base. That's the most hits she has posted since back in April. Mattie Kovalaske was another key player, going 1-for-4 with two stolen bases, one run, and one RBI.

Margaretta's victory ended a four-game drought at home and bumped them up to 5-12. As for Willard, they have been struggling recently as they've lost nine of their last ten matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 3-17 record this season.

Margaretta will challenge Port Clinton at 4:45 p.m. on Thursday. The Polar Bears' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Redskins have averaged an impressive 7 runs per game this season. Willard does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
