Basketball Recap: Tuesday's Victory Is Horizon's Seventh in Last Nine Outings

If Chaparral wanted to avenge their loss from the last time they played Horizon, they should've done a better job of containing Peyton Schiltz. The Horizon Huskies walked away with a 50-38 win over the Chaparral Firebirds on Tuesday thanks in part to Schiltz, who dropped a double-double on 15 points and ten boards. That's the most rebounds she has posted since back in February of 2024.

The team also got some help courtesy of Ella Frazier, who posted six points in addition to eight boards and five assists. She is on a roll when it comes to rebounds, as she's now pulled down eight or more in the last three games she's played.

Despite the loss, Chaparral still got an impressive performance from Kaelie Weishaar, who put up 16 points along with five boards and three steals. Another player making a difference was Margaret Connell, who earned six points and eight rebounds.

Horizon is on a roll lately: they've won seven of their last nine games, which provided a nice bump to their 16-8 record this season. As for Chaparral, they moved to 9-10 with that loss, which also ended their three-game winning streak.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Horizon will take on Mountain Pointe at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Horizon is facing Mountain Pointe at the right time seeing as Mountain Pointe is stuck on a four-game losing streak. Chaparral has already played their next contest (against Arizona College Prep), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing.
