Recap: Desert Edge Scorpions vs. Sierra Linda Bulldogs
Even though the Desert Edge Scorpions have not done well against the Sierra Linda Bulldogs recently (they were 0-8 in their previous eight matchups), they didn't let the past get in their way on Friday. Desert Edge took their game on the road with ease, bagging a 61-30 win over Sierra Linda. For Desert Edge, this counts as revenge for the 54-51 defeat Sierra Linda walked away with the last time they faced one another back in November of 2017.
Desert Edge was led to victory by Anaira Ortiz-Reyes and Aysja Ward. Ortiz-Reyes scored 16 points, while Ward scored 18 points. Another player making a difference was Jitzabeth Hielo Miles , who scored 9 points.
The victory got Desert Edge back to even at 2-2. As for Sierra Linda, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 0-2.
Desert Edge will head out on the road to face off against Tucson High Magnet School at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in Arizona (Tucson High Magnet School is ranked 59th, while Desert Edge is ranked 71st). Sierra Linda's road trip will continue as they head out to face Copper Canyon at 10:30 a.m. on November 25th.
