Basketball Recap: New Philadelphia Extends Winning Streak to Three

New Philadelphia had already won two in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 13.5 points) and they went ahead and made it three on Saturday. They took down the Ashland Arrows 63-49. This was a revenge game for the Quakers: when they faced off against the Arrows back in December of 2024, they had to take a 49-43 defeat.

New Philadelphia's victory was their fourth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 7-5. They've dominated over that stretch too, winning by an average of 28.5 points. As for Ashland, their loss dropped their record down to 7-5.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. New Philadelphia will welcome Northwest at 7:15 p.m. on Tuesday. Northwest knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with 55 points or more in their past five games -- so hopefully New Philadelphia likes a good challenge. As for Ashland, they will square off against West Holmes at 7:15 p.m. on Friday.
