Softball Recap: LaVergne Takes a Loss

LaVergne fell victim to Smyrna and their airtight pitching crew on Monday. They came up short against the Bulldogs, falling 23-0. Having soared to a lofty 12 runs in the game before, the Wolverines' shutout was a dramatic turnaround.

LaVergne's defeat dropped their record down to 1-8. As for Smyrna, the victory keeps they at an undefeated 5-0.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. LaVergne will venture away from home to face off against Cookeville at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. LaVergne is facing Cookeville at the right time seeing as Cookeville is stuck on a four-game losing streak. As for Smyrna, they are taking a road trip to challenge Wilson Central at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
