PUCKETT, Miss. - After three lead changes, St. Joseph Catholic (Madison, Miss.) took the lead for good when Robert Hamil ran for a touchdown with 11:00 remaining in the third quarter and held on to beat Puckett (Miss.) 36-22 on Saturday.

After nabbing the lead on a touchdown run by Austin Fletcher, the Wolves went into halftime with a 14-9 lead. The Bruins took the lead for good with a Hamil touchdown run in the third quarter.

Last season's game between the teams resulted in a 47-13 win for St. Joseph Catholic.

The loss comes after Puckett defeated Williams Sullivan 39-12 last week. The victory was a step in the right direction for SJC, which was coming off a 16-3 defeat at the hands of Leake County in its previous game. The loss snapped Puckett's two-game winning streak.

Puckett (4-4) goes up against Marshall in a 2A Region 6 game matchup next week, while St. Joseph Catholic (6-3) locks horns with Williams Sullivan also in a 2A Region 6 game.
