Football Recap: Jim Thorpe Skates Past Catasauqua with Ease

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Jim Thorpe). They blew past the Catasauqua Rough Riders, posting a 49-13 win. The Olympians pushed the score to 49-6 by the end of the third, a deficit the Rough Riders cut but never quite recovered from.

Cole Lazorick continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines, rushing for 99 yards and one touchdown on only eight carries, while also throwing for 97 yards and a pair of TDs on only eight passes. That's the most rushing yards he has posted since back in August of 2024. Another player making a difference was Bobby Levins, who gained 77 total yards and two touchdowns.

Jim Thorpe's victory bumped their record up to 3-4. As for Catasauqua, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 3-4.

Coming up, Jim Thorpe will look to defend their home field on Friday against Northwestern Lehigh at 7:00 p.m. The Olympians will need to watch out since the Tigers have now posted at least 31 points every time they've taken the field this season. As for Catasauqua, they will head out on the road to face off against Northern Lehigh at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
