Basketball Recap: Franky Jackson's Big Game Can't Quite Lead Bethesda Academy over Andrew Jackson Academy

It's hard to turn regular season success into postseason wins, a fact Bethesda Academy can now relate to. They lost to the Andrew Jackson Academy Warriors on the road by a 73-58 margin on Thursday. Unfortunately, that's the third time they've come up short against the Warriors this season, with their most recent loss being a 15-0 defeat two weeks ago.

Several Blazers players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Franky Jackson, who almost dropped a double-double with 15 points and nine boards. The dominant performance also gave Jackson a new career-high in assists (three). Another player making a difference was Jaylen Holmes, who posted 12 points.

Even though they lost, Bethesda Academy was working as a unit and finished the game with 13 assists. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Andrew Jackson Academy only seven assists.

Andrew Jackson Academy's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Hayden McClung, who en route to 23 points. Vashahd Schofield was another key player, dropping a double-double with 14 points and 17 rebounds.
