Volleyball Recap: Emary Moore and Cali Straub Secure Win for Northwest Guilford + How To Watch

Northwest Guilford lost to East Forsyth back in September, but they didn't allow them the same satisfaction on Thursday. The Vikings walked away with a 3-1 victory over the Eagles. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Vikings.

Northwest Guilford had a slow start but a hot finish: after dropping the first set, they turned around to win the next three. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 23-25, 25-12, 25-15, 25-12.

Northwest Guilford was led to victory by Cali Straub and Emary Moore. Straub had nine digs and two aces, while Moore had 20 assists and three digs. Those 20 assists gave Moore a new career-high. Jamison Pugh also deserves some recognition as she had her first block of the season.

They weren't the only good servers: Northwest Guilford was lethal from the service line and finished the match with ten aces. They are 8-3 when they serve at least ten aces.

East Forsyth's loss came despite a true team effort with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Irelynn Price, who had 11 digs and two aces. Another player making a difference was Maddie Fendley, who had 16 assists and six digs.

Northwest Guilford's record now sits at 12-8. As for East Forsyth, their defeat ended a three-match streak of away wins and brought them to 11-8.
