Soccer Game Preview: Adamson vs. Hillcrest

Adamson is 0-5 against Hillcrest since February of 2023 but things could change on Monday. The Adamson Leopards are taking a road trip to face off against the Hillcrest Panthers at 7:30 p.m. Neither squad made it on the board the last time they hit the pitch, so they've probably got a bit of extra motivation.

Adamson is headed into Monday's contest looking for a big change in momentum after dropping their fourth straight game on Friday. They lost 10-0 to Sunset. While losing is never fun, the Leopards can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Texas soccer rankings (they are ranked 743rd, while the Bison are ranked 260th).

Meanwhile, Hillcrest came tearing into Friday's matchup with five straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 4.8 goals), and they left with even more momentum. Their defense stepped up to hand the Longhorns a 1-0 shutout. The Panthers' defense has been rock solid lately; the team hasn't given up a goal in their last six games.

Hillcrest pushed their record up to 13-3 with the win, which was their third straight on the road. The wins came thanks in part to their defensive effort, having only given up zero goals over those three contests. As for Adamson, their loss dropped their record down to 0-12.

Adamson might still be hurting after the 9-0 defeat they got from Hillcrest in their previous meeting back in January. Can Adamson avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
