Basketball Recap: Triad Now 16-1 over Last 17 Games

Calvary typically has all the answers at home, but on Monday Triad proved too difficult a challenge. They enjoyed a cozy 65-46 win over the Calvary Saints. Given the Knights' advantage in MaxPreps' Illinois basketball rankings (they are ranked 43rd, while the Saints are ranked 213th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Despite the loss, Calvary still got an impressive performance from Luke Blackford, who went 8-for-18 to rack up 25 points and three blocks. The contest was Blackford's 20th in a row with at least 16 points. Reese Huffman was another key player, putting up ten points.

Triad has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won 16 of their last 17 matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 24-6 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 59.2 points over those games. As for Calvary, their loss dropped their record down to 20-9.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Triad will host Jersey at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. As for Calvary, they won't have much time to rest: their next game is against Warrensburg-Latham at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Warrensburg-Latham will roll in looking for their 11th straight victory, something Calvary surely won't give up without a fight.
