Hixson was not the first on the board on Thursday, but they got there more often. They walked away with a 19-9 victory over the Signal Mountain Eagles. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Wildcats.

Hixson got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Ryan Burney out in front who picked up 39 receiving yards and one TD, and also rushed for 38 yards. The Wildcats also got a significant boost from Adryoun Ad Stewart, who ran away from the competition to the tune of 110 yards.

They were just one part of a punishing run game: Hixson was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 275 rushing yards. That's the most rushing yards they've posted since back in October of 2024.

Hixson didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off two passes before the game was over. The picks came courtesy of Deuantre Baulding Jr and Burney. Hixson got some further help from Alfonso Rivezzo: he picked up a sack and made seven total tackles (2.0 for loss).

The victory got Hixson back to even at 5-5. As for Signal Mountain, they have been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 4-6 record this season.

Hixson and Signal Mountain are set to take part in some playoff action in their next matches. The Wildcats will welcome White County at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. The Warriors' defense has only allowed 14 points per game this season, so Hixson's offense will have their work cut out for them. As for Signal Mountain, they will square off against Upperman at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. The Eagles will need to watch out since the Bees have now posted at least 31 points in their last five contests.
