Volleyball Recap: Charlotte Christian Takes a Loss

Charlotte Christian lost against Charlotte Latin back in August and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Thursday. The Knights took a 3-1 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Hawks. While the Knights didn't get the win, they did start the game off strong, beating the Hawks 25-13 in the first set.

Charlotte Christian started the match hot and won the first set, but they struggled down the stretch and lost the last three. The final score came out to 13-25, 25-13, 25-19, 25-12.

Loss or not, Charlotte Christian got some senior leadership from Holden Gore and Bella Eudy. Gore had 22 digs and two assists, while Eudy had 11 assists and five digs. Gore is on a roll when it comes to digs, as she's now had 13 or more in each of the last four games she's played.

Ryan Burrell had an outrageously good game for Charlotte Latin as she had 26 digs and three aces.

Charlotte Christian has been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 11-7 record this season. As for Charlotte Latin, their win bumped their record up to 23-1.

Looking ahead, Charlotte Christian will venture away from home to face off against Covenant Day at 6:15 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Charlotte Latin, they will host Carmel Christian at 6:15 p.m. on Monday.
