Baseball Game Preview: Haverling Rams vs. Keshequa Indians

The Haverling Rams will venture away from home to face off against the Keshequa Indians at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Haverling is coming into the match on a three-game losing streak.

On Monday, Haverling came up short against Geneseo and fell 8-4.

Dylan Wenban was cooking despite his team's loss, getting on base in all four of his plate appearances with three stolen bases and one run.

Pavilion hit Keshequa with a 13-run second inning on Saturday, which goes a long way in explaining the final result. The Indians lost 15-7 to the Golden Gophers. The defeat continues a trend for the Indians in their meetings with the Golden Gophers: they've now lost three in a row.

Nathan Hillier made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and went 1-for-2 with three RBI and one double.

Keshequa's loss dropped their record down to 11-4. As for Haverling, their defeat dropped their record down to 6-9.

The batters for both teams will have to hit smart on Tuesday as both have some strikeout artists on the roster. Haverling has been retiring batters left and right this season, having averaged 8.4 strikeouts per game. However, it's not like Keshequa struggles in that department as they've been averaging 7.9 strikeouts. Considering how easily both teams rack up Ks, the hitters on both teams better bring their A-game into this one.

Haverling took their win against Keshequa in their previous matchup back in April of 2023 by a conclusive 10-0 score. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Rams since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
