Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Elk Grove). They came out on top against the Laguna Creek Cardinals by a score of 3-1 on Friday. That's more bragging rights for the Thundering Herd, who also won the pair's last head-to-head.

Kainoa Hernandez and Eddie Taylor scored all three of Elk Grove's goals, which were season-firsts for both players.

Elk Grove's victory was their first in the league, bumping their league record up to 1-2 and their overall record up to 2-7-3. As for Laguna Creek, they have traveled a rocky road recently having lost four of their last five games, which put a noticeable dent in their 3-8 record this season.
